The silly season leading up to the draft is over and now we have 11 new members of the 2017 Seahawks draft class to discuss. Adam and Brandan kick off the discussion with a look at the overall philosophy of the team that emerges from this draft. By taking three defensive backs in the first four rounds, it topped the number of DBs the Seahawks have taken in those round over the entire Carroll/Schneider era. We talk about what this means for the team, and Adam explains why this strategy has him a bit irked.
Getting into the players, the guys talk about the importance of getting guys "in the trenches" this offseason based on how the 2016 season ended. They clearly went out and addressed what were seen as the top needs for the team on the defensive line, offensive line and at defensive back, but it did create some new questions particularly on the offensive line.
Of the latest players, the guys are most excited about the potential of Malik McDowell, Shaquill Griffin, Nazair Jones and Tedrick Thompson, but will hold off to next week on deciding which one they're going to specifically root for in the 2017 season.
In the second half of the show, a new member of the flock explains why this draft class has him especially fired up for the start of the season and why Eddie Lacy has 385,000 reasons to be in position to be an impact player this year. Do better callouts go to WalterFootball.com and to the stadium in Minnesota that is facing new problems. Better at life nods go to Paul Allen for his latest effort to benefit Seattle and to Marshawn Lynch for showing his appreciation for Seahawks fans as he returns to the NFL to live out a childhood dream.
